I love this witticism and as someone who loves a good dessert it makes me smile to turn stress on it’s head! Stress can be a useful motivator but when it comes in relentless bouts it is not so healthy. Humour is a good strategy to summon ‘endorphins’ – these are the hormones released in response to pain and stress and help to alleviate anxiety. The surging “second wind” and euphoric “runners high” are the result of endorphins. Along with exercise, laughter is one of the easiest ways to induce an endorphin release! Eating a good dessert is just yummy!
